Louis Onyango OtienoChairman
Louis provides strategic leadership to the Sera team. With over 30 years' experience as a technology and business leader, Louis has accrued a unique set of experiences from the public and private sectors in the US and Africa. He drove vision and business growth for Microsoft where he held various senior roles and played a key role in the establishment of Microsoft 4Afrika as a founder Director. Louis has served as ICT advisor to the Presidents of Tanzania, Uganda, and Mozambique. He has also served on the boards of Kenya’s Vision 2030, Enablis East Africa, Red Media (Nigeria) and the COMESA Business Council. Louis currently sits on the Nation Media Group PLC and Absa Asset Management (K) Ltd boards where he provides guidance on digital transformation.
Kate KrukielManaging Director
Kate drives the strategy, operations, and delivery of the Sera Afrika team. She served as the United Nations Director for Microsoft and worked heavily in the Middle East and Africa, breaking down social, political, and language barriers to create lasting change in emerging markets. She has over 20 years' experience building solutions, teams, and business models to spur social and economic development. Kate brings expertise in the creation of sustainable partnerships between government, private sector and the UN/NGO world which are critical to the successful development of Africa.
Elisa is a healthcare policy leader and public health expert with over 20 years’ experience in organisational management, strategic leadership, business development, and consensus-building in both the United States and Africa. She is the former Senior Vice President, Quality Measurement, of the National Quality Forum—a not-for-profit organisation that works to catalyse healthcare improvements in the US through evidence-based standards, public-private partnerships, consensus building, and quality measurement and reporting. Elisa is currently the global public health consultant for the Health and Rights Education Programme (HREP), Malawi, playing a pivotal role in ensuring community health advocacy and better integration and equitable delivery of community health services throughout Malawi. She also advises HREP leadership and the responses to emerging public health issues by the Community Health Ambassador of the Malawian Ministry of Health. Elisa’s research and policy interests include health systems financing and regulatory policy, population health, infectious diseases, maternal and child health, and health equity. She has served on several professional and volunteer expert panels and boards.
